
Kingdom Jump
Multiplayer game designer
This was my first work as a professional game designer at Poly Fruit Studios. The project is still under NDA so I cannot share too much. I only worked there remotely for 3 months as the payment agreement was not suitable.
What is Kingdom Jump?
Kingdom jump is still a work in progress. It is a mobile shooting platformer that uses balloons which trigger a rope swinging movement to traverse the map more effectively than on the ground.

My role
I was the first multiplayer designer on the team and I researched competitive game modes because the studio wanted an E-sport following. I designed and pitched competitive game modes that would translate well in a 2D platformer.
I then worked with another multiplayer game designer to create a total of 15 game mode documents. I focused on the design of the multiplayer to use the solo game's shop system, which helped create a CS:GO mid-round shop style experience.
The player would use balloons, get kills and contribute to objectives to earn coins. When they die, the player can use the shop to unlock new weapons, upgrades and power-ups. As the game progressed the player evolved using money from contributing to the game.
This system was a good idea to reward engagement but also helped the game's monetization of the in-game shops.
QA Testing
In the last few weeks of my contract I joined the QA team and tested the game daily. I would give feedback on combat reworks, level design and we would do frequent dirty tests to try and break the game.
